The "toolbox“ will detail support concepts which are identified and defined by information gained through surveys following a review of relevant literature. The surveys will be carried out in the form of questionnaires which both the young people in the target groups and the specialists who support them will be asked to fill out. The young people will provide their feedback as experts in their own affairs.
The support concepts identified in the “toolbox” will be adaptable, allowing them to be used on an individual basis to best meet the needs and aspirations of each young person requiring support.
The project is based on the social model of disability which assumes that people with disabilities are impaired by their environment and personal experience and not by their disability.
The key focus of the project is the inclusion of the young people of the target groups and so their participation is crucial at all stages of the project. With regard to teachers and specialists involved, the aim is to raise awareness for individual response to the needs of each trainee and to strengthen their professional capacity. Companies providing training and employment will be provided with information and action concepts for the successful inclusion of the young people in the target groups.
By producing the “toolbox” of support concepts, the project's ambition is to create inclusive and diverse vocational opportunities that can be sustained in the long term.
